Global Markets Rebound on Fed Hints, Crypto Lifts
October 15 saw global markets rebound, spurred by dovish signals from Fed Chair Jerome Powell and strong U.S. banking earnings. Powell suggested he might slow or halt the Fed’s balance sheet run-off and left open the possibility of further rate cuts this year. Asian markets rallied — MSCI Asia-Pacific was up ~1.38%, Japan’s Nikkei gained ~1.5%, and European futures followed suit.
In the crypto space, the weaker U.S. dollar helped lift sentiment. Bitcoin regained some ground even as geopolitical risks remained. However, uncertainty around U.S.–China trade and policy actions tempered overly aggressive bets.
