Tether Announces USAT — A Stablecoin Designed for the U.S. Market
Tether has unveiled plans to launch USAT, a new stablecoin specifically tailored for the American market, with rollout expected by the end of 2025. Issued through Anchorage Digital Bank, a regulated U.S. trust bank.
Led by Bo Hines, a former White House official.
Reserves custody to be handled by Cantor Fitzgerald.
Fully aligned with U.S. stablecoin legislation under the GENIUS Act.
USAT differs from USDT in one important way: it won’t offer yield, making it a purely compliant, regulated version intended for U.S. customers and institutions.
